Job Description

QED Hospitality is a restaurant operations management group, focused on running Food & Beverage operations in boutique hotels and exclusive sites nationally.

We bring our operational acumen to the table, developing and managing restaurants tailored to the hotel, the region and the demands of the market. These are not cookie cutter concepts, but true restaurants born of the region and based on our history.

At QED Hospitality, we believe every interaction contributes to how our guests remember their experience. As a Security / Door Host at L.A. Jackson, you play an essential role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment for our guests and team members.

This position combines hospitality with situational awareness. The ideal candidate maintains a calm, confident presence while supporting the flow of guests to the rooftop, proactively addressing potential issues, and ensuring our standards for safety and guest experience are upheld. Through strong communication, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset, the Security / Door Host helps create a space where guests can relax, celebrate, and enjoy the L.A. Jackson experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage the flow of guests entering the rooftop venue to ensure safe occupancy levels and smooth service operations.

  • Maintain a visible and professional presence that supports a safe and welcoming environment.

  • Work closely with lobby hosts, management, and the front-of-house team to maintain an organized guest arrival process.

  • Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with all age and entry requirements.

  • Observe guest behavior and proactively address potential concerns before they escalate.

  • Respond calmly and professionally to guest conflicts or disturbances, helping to diffuse situations when necessary.

  • Communicate clearly with management regarding any security or guest-related concerns.

  • Support team members in maintaining order and safety throughout the venue.

  • Demonstrate strong situational awareness and attention to detail in a fast-paced nightlife environment.

  • Uphold company standards related to guest conduct, safety procedures, and hospitality.

  • Provide a welcoming first and last impression for guests entering and exiting the venue.

  • Assist in ensuring policies and procedures are consistently followed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age .

  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.

  • Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in high-energy or stressful situations.

  • Strong situational awareness and ability to make sound decisions quickly.

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends , including Fridays and Saturdays .

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and monitor high-traffic environments.

Preferred

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Previous experience in security, doorman, hospitality, or nightlife operations .

  • Experience working in high-volume bars, restaurants, or entertainment venues.

    PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
    Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the restaurant. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a manual dexterity and coordination to operate restaurant and office equipment and machines. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
