Katapult Network is designed to help college graduates with zero to two years of professional experience find their next professional career opportunity. We focus on helping recent college graduates, with no experience, get access to full-time, entry-level opportunities with some of the Nation's top employers. Our clients include ground-breaking start-up companies and well-established billion-dollar organizations who want to find their next generation of talent.

The Job:

We are currently recruiting a detail-oriented individual for an entry-level Project Estimator role in the construction industry. The Project Estimator will support the management of commercial structured cabling projects by working closely with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with estimating, planning, and managing large-scale construction infrastructure projects.

We value a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a team setting. The Project Estimator will help ensure accurate documentation, cost control, and timely delivery on mission-critical projects. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating technical details, and working in a dynamic industry, we want to hear from you!

What You Will Be Doing As A Project Estimator:

  • Assist in managing crews responsible for support systems including cabling, security systems, CCTV, AV, and fire alarm systems
  • Review blueprints and specifications to prepare accurate project estimates
  • Track budgets, generate material orders, and assist with invoicing and documentation
  • Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to manage project timelines and deliverables
  • Create baseline project schedules and manage change orders
  • Travel to job sites (local and occasional out-of-state travel may be required)
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely updates on project progress and financials
  • Support contract negotiations and subcontractor coordination
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations

Our Ideal Project Estimator Candidate Has:

  • Communication — expresses ideas clearly in both written and verbal correspondence, listens effectively, and shares information appropriately with persons inside and outside the organization
  • Initiative — proactively takes on new responsibilities and challenges using good judgment to balance and maintain all projects
  • Technical mindset — understands complex blueprints, construction specs, and cabling systems
  • Problem-solving — identifies issues, evaluates options, and implements solutions
  • Team player — works independently and with teams to complete project goals
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Project Management software (MS Project preferred)

Requirements To Be A Project Estimator:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Professional attitude and strong organizational skills

Preferred but not required:

  • 1+ years of experience in estimating or managing construction
