Job Description and Duties

Under direct supervision of a Business Taxes Administrator II, the Assistant Property Appraiser in the Assessment Practices Survey Division serves as a member of a survey team that reviews the assessment practices and procedures of County Assessors' offices for compliance with property tax laws and rules. The incumbent focuses on issues involving the taxation of real property. The incumbent learns and conducts the less difficult appraisals of real property and reviews appraisals as part of an assessment-sampling program.

Working Conditions

  • Partial telework may be available.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods of time.

  • Position requires employee to maintain a Board of Equalization (BOE) Appraiser Certificate including continuing education.

  • Ability to learn and apply property tax laws and rules.
