Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Access Control Technician with hands-on expertise in installing, configuring, and supporting Avigilon ACM or comparable enterprise access control platforms. The ideal candidate will also possess strong low-voltage hardware installation and troubleshooting skills.

Job Summary:
As an Access Control Technician at Rivell, you will play a key role in deploying and maintaining secure, reliable access control and security solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for installing access control hardware, programming and configuring system software, performing low-voltage wiring, and integrating security components such as card readers, door hardware, cameras, and network devices. This role requires strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in fast-paced project environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure access control systems, including Avigilon ACM or equivalent platforms (Axis, Lenel, Openpath, S2, Brivo, etc.).
  • Perform system programming, credential setup, door configurations, schedules, and rule-based permissions.
  • Install access control hardware, including card readers, door strikes, maglocks, REX devices, power supplies, and control panels.
  • Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling for access control, security, and network systems.
  • Integrate access control with video management systems, cameras, and related security equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution and system reliability.
  • Work with clients and internal teams to plan installations, verify project requirements, and ensure systems are deployed to specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including wiring diagrams, device lists, and configuration notes.
  • Adhere to safety standards and industry best practices while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with clients regarding system operation, issues, or project updates.
  • Participate in ongoing training to remain current with emerging access control technologies and industry advancements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the lead technician or project manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in access control, low voltage, or security systems is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience installing and configuring access control systems , preferably including Avigilon ACM or equivalent enterprise platforms.
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring, door hardware, and network-connected security devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, architectural drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently or within a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel to various client sites.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
